8:00 am - Daybreak Breakfast

Domestic violence does not only occur in the home behind closed doors – it occurs in public and also in the presence of friends, family and co-workers.

Your neighbor belittles and berates his wife at the neighborhood barbecue; your golf buddy rattles off one sexist joke after another; your daughter’s boyfriend constantly calls to check on her whereabouts. When witnessing an abusive situation, it’s easy to think, “there’s nothing I can do” or “it’s not my business.” That attitude is one of the reasons intimate partner violence persists. If you’re a witness to abusive behaviors, you can do something to address it. And, you should.

Everyone of us has a role to play individually and collectively as a community.

We’ll help you get started “in finding the right words”.
