Teen Parent Lobby Day

Please join us at the State House in the Great Hall and Grand Staircase, 9:30 am-12:30 pm. This year’s theme is The Key Is Me: Support Opportunity. Believe in Teen Parents. Expect Success.
The event will feature opportunities for teens to share their stories with legislators through advocacy and a multi-media art exhibit. The annual Teen Parent Lobby Day brings teen parents, their children, and their supporters to the Massachusetts State House to advocate for young parent programs. The event is also an important opportunity for teen parents to become involved in the policy process and to share their stories.

Taking Steps Walk

Taking Steps is a 5k Walkathon that supports survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in Worcester County and promotes prevention of violence against women and children.
Organizations supported by the Taking Steps annual fundraising event are:
- The Rape Crisis center of Central Massachusetts
- YWCA Central Massachusetts
- Girls, Inc.

Teen Recognition Day

Our Young Parents Program joins with other programs that serve teen paarents in Worcesteer to recognize one or two teen moms from each program who have make significant positive changes and shown progress during their participation in our programs. Stand Against Racism

The YWCA of Central Massachusetts cordially invites you to take a Stand Against Racism.join your voice with ours by becoming a Participating Site and hosting a “Stand” of your own, and joining the YWCA’s Community “Stand” on April 30, 2010.
Register today at www.StandAgainstRacism.org. It’s simple, and there’s no cost whatsoever. Any organization or group of individuals can become a participating site.
This event is aimed at raising awareness that racism still exists in our communities and can no longer be ignored or tolerated. Not only does the Stand Against Racism raise awareness of the issues of racism, but also affects real change in the lives of families, friends and co-workers.
