Domestic Violence and sexual abuse are often called “women’s issues.” No more. There is a growing number of men who are raising their voices and saying violent behaviors are tied to definitions of manhood. It is time for all of us – women and men together – to call out unacceptable behavior and to be leaders of changes.

Join the YWCA and Craig Norberg-Bohm, Coordinator of the Men’s Initiative for Jane Doe, Inc. and Director and Co-Founder of the Massachusetts White Ribbon Day Campaign, for a conversation about men, masculinity and violence.

We will also be presenting 2014 Great Guys Awards to:

Det. George Adams
Worcester Police Department

An Empty Place at the Table

October 31, 2014 at 5:00 pm

A remembrance of the lives lost to domestic violence.

Domestic Violence is the leading cause of injury to women. We hear about incidents through the media, yet many times we forget about the spaces left empty at dinner tables across the state. The emptiness does not occur just on Sundays or holidays, it is there 365 days a year.

This tribute of remembrance honors those who have lost their lives to domestic violence during the past year in Massachusetts. The names of every victim are inscribed onto each place setting, a powerful display of the family memories that will be missed.
