Summer 2012 Swimming and Recreation Program for Youth

July 5 – August 12

Are you looking for something fun to do this summer?

Participating in Wheels to Water is a great way to spend your summer, especially if you are between the ages of 7 and 17 – and it’s free!

Wheels to Water offers:

  • Open Swim Time at the Boys & Girls Club of Worcester, Girls Inc., Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), YMCA of Central Massachusetts, and YWCA Central Massachusetts;
  • Free bus transportation to participating pool or City beach in your neighborhood. Ask where the drop-off/pick-up location is in your neighborhood;
  • Fun recreation programs, including sports clinics, arts & crafts, summer reading, and more;
  • Summer Lunch Program at specific sites, and;
  • Mentoring opportunities.

How Do I Sign-Up?

  1. You must register for the program.
  2. Registration forms are available online at www.worcesterma.gov or you can call of stop by any one of the participating Registration Sites in your neighborhood.

YWCA Central Massachusetts

Monday – Friday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Friday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Must be accompanied by an adult if you are under 13

Swim Lesson

Monday – Friday at

3:15 p.m., 3:45 p.m., and 4:15 p.m.

Overview of the Wheels to Water Program:

The Wheels to Water program was designed and implemented with support from the City and a diverse group of community partners. The intent was to provide our young people with productive and meaningful summer opportunities; to include swimming, sports clinics, arts and culture, reading/literacy programs, and more.
